It is our aim to provide you with easily accessible fine color photographs at reasonable prices. We provide you with a CD full with exciting photographs and a wide range of choice. It is our ambition to expand this choice even further in the future. In addition to the PhotoLib‚Ñ¢ CDs we provide you with a range of services to obtain images for large format four-color printing.
IMPORTANT! In order to receive information about PhotoLib developments please send us the registration card. You have to be registered to order PhotoLib‚Ñ¢ Portfolio and PhotoLib‚Ñ¢ diskettes. We also welcome your ideas and suggestions how to improve PhotoLib‚Ñ¢.
PhotoLib‚Ñ¢ is a collection of stock photography and color photographs from a variety of stock agencies, individual photographers, companies and organisations. The library offers you a wide choice to find appropriate images to present your ideas on screen and paper. PhotoLib‚Ñ¢ images are suitable for business presentations, newsletters, flyers, desktop printers, multimedia and four color printing. For large format four-color printing PhotoLib‚Ñ¢ provides products and services for high-resolution images.
Each photograph has been scanned in full 24-bit color (16.7 million colors). PhotoLib‚Ñ¢Volume CDs contain medium-resolution images (up to 730 x 485 pixels with1 MB file size). The images have been optimized for optimum screen presentation and impact.

PhotoLib‚Ñ¢ Special Theme CDs and PhotoLib‚Ñ¢GO! contain in addition high-resolution images (up to 2920 x 1940 pixels, 16 MB file size).
As usual printing may require image adjustment to obtain the best possible result. Please read the chapter "How to Use PhotoLib‚Ñ¢ Images" for more information.
Minimum System Requirements
You will require an Apple Macintosh with 8 MB of memory, a CD-ROM drive, System 7 and Quicktime 1.5 or 1.6. This will allow you to access, display and convert images. A color monitor with 256 colours is required to be able to view the photographs with reasonable fidelity. A full 24-bit color monitor is needed to display the images with full color.
To be able to use images in other software you may require more hardware and software. Please consult with your software supplier.
Keep in mind that image processing imposes some very heavy demands on processor speed, memory size and available disk space. We recommend strongly that you install PhotoLib‚Ñ¢ on a Mac with a fast processor such as a Mac Quadra.
Should you want to process high-resolution images on your computer minimum requirements will rise rapidly. Keep in mind that a high-resolution image occupies 18 MB of memory. If you have too little memory excessive disk swapping will multiply processing time. Consider also the amount of disk space required to store your images.
File Formats and Compatibility
PhotoLib‚Ñ¢ images on this disk are stored in JPEG (Joint Photographics Expert Group) compressed format.
You can read or place the JPEG image files directly in any desktop publishing program or image processing supporting the JPEG file format. Adobe Photoshop is such a program.
For use with other software you will first have to convert the image file into the appropriate format such as PICT or TIFF by using the supplied Image Decompressor utility or other software such as Adobe Photoshop. Or you could use the Clipboard to cut and paste.
PhotoLib‚Ñ¢ Usage Rights
All PhotoLib‚Ñ¢ images are copyright protected and licensed to you personally under the terms of the attached license agreements. The license is not transferable. Please read the license agreements carefully to ensure to comply. Please read the document "PhotoLib‚Ñ¢Copyright&License" in the "Documentation" folder for more details. Here is a short overview:
You may
• install PhotoLib™ on one computer
• copy selected images to your hard disk on the same computer
• print images
• include images in screen or slide presentations and multimedia
• provide service to your customers which includes PhotoLib™ images
You must
• follow the rules for each image as defined by the "Usage Code" in the Fetch description of an image
You may not
• install PhotoLib™ on a second computer
• make a copy of any image for use on another computer
• manufacture products which are sold (for example posters, calendars, photo books, a multimedia CD-ROM or similar). e.g. the final product which includes PhotoLib™ images may not be sold.
